Admission Timeline

All applicants must submit their UMKC General Application for Admission, including all materials, before the specified deadline corresponding to the semester they intend to commence their studies.

Key Deadlines

Spring Semester Admission

• Oct. 1 (Application deadline) — International residents without an active visa
• Jan. 1 (Application deadline) — U.S. citizens / permanent residents and active visa holders
• Classes commence — Admitted students for the Spring Semester will begin classes in January

Summer Semester Admission

• April 1 (Application deadline) — International residents without an active visa
• May 1 (Application deadline) — U.S. citizens / permanent residents and active visa holders
• Classes commence — Admitted students for the Fall Semester will begin classes in June

Fall Semester Admission

• June 1 (Application deadline) — International residents without an active visa
• Aug. 1: (Application deadline) — U.S. citizens / permanent residents and active visa holders
• Classes commence — Admitted students for the Fall Semester will begin classes in August

Additional Information

All supporting documents must be sent by the designated application date (this includes transcripts, test scores, goal statement, résumé/CV, and letters of recommendation). Applications that are completed late will be reviewed on a space-available basis (may be deferred to the following semester) and incomplete applications will not be considered for admission.

Applicants offered admissions will be emailed the admissions decision. All decisions of the admissions committee are final.
