Admissions Timeline

The application process involves three separate applications:

Mid- to Late-April: UMKC General Application for Admission Opens

April 24: CASPA Application Opens

June 15: CASPA and UMKC General Application Deadline*

  • The CASPA application must be submitted and verified by June 15.
    • Please note that CASPA verification can take up to 2-4 weeks to process.
  • The UMKC general application and all fees must be submitted by June 15.

June 29: PA Student Portal Deadline*

After the CASPA application has been verified, applicants will receive an email with information on how to access the PA Student Portal. In the Portal, applicants will be able to:

  • Review the technical standards.
  • Verify shadowing experiences.
  • Designate campus preference.
  • Complete the final submission of the PA Student Portal.
All of the above tasks must be completed by June 29.

Mid-August: Interview Offers Extended

  • All applicants will be notified electronically of their interview offer status. Applicants will be offered an interview, placed on the interview waitlist or not offered an interview. 

Sept. 2 and Sept. 3: Interviews Take Place

  • All interviews will be virtual unless otherwise notified. Candidates will interview either in the morning or afternoon session.

Mid-September: Offers of Admission Are Extended

  • Candidates receiving an offer of admission will be notified electronically of their acceptance to the program and their designated campus. 
  • Students placed on the waitlist or denied admission will also be notified electronically.
  • Admission decisions are not communicated via phone. All decisions of the admissions committee are final.

January: Classes Begin

  • Students who have been offered admission and who have accepted the offer of admission will matriculate to the School of Medicine Physician Assistant program.

Please note: If any program deadlines fall over a weekend, the deadline will be moved to the following Monday.

*If any of these materials are submitted after the deadlines provided, the application will be considered late and reviewed with other late applications at the discretion of the admissions committee. The admissions committee does not guarantee the review of applications completed late. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Once admissions decisions have been made, no other applications for admission will be considered.
