Our department addresses the health needs of Missouri by engaging in research and scholarly activity and by training today’s medical students through courses that encourage reflection on the core human values needed to provide humane, empathetic and ethical care to communities of varying backgrounds. Humanities conference room
In addition to serving as a small, fully equipped conference room, this space also houses numerous books and magazines, which can be checked out. Reserve this room for your next class, lecture or meeting, or stop by to browse its special selection of reading materials. The conference room is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the week. Use the school's Room Reservation form to book the room.
Osler Society
Founded in 2010, the Osler Society of Greater Kansas City is a student organization supported by KUMC, UMKC and the John Locke Society of Greater Kansas City. It encourages a mentoring environment between students and physicians and acts as a forum where they can meet to discuss topics of mutual interest. It honors and advances the ideals exemplified by the life of Sir William Osler. To get involved, contact UMKC's representative, Sarah McKee.
