Our mission is to provide students with comprehensive career services so they may select an appropriate and fulfilling career in medicine. We offer a comprehensive program that begins with the mentorship of students when choosing their profession to navigating through the complex residency application process. Our office maintains up-to-date resources regarding specialty exploration, specialty selection, electives, timelines, the Match process, CV creation, program director advice, and more. Enrolled UMKC medical students can access these resources on Canvas, UMKC’s learner management system, by enrolling in our organization. Association of American Medical Colleges Careers in Medicine
Students in Years 3-6 (MS1-MS4) have free access to this page beginning in the fall semester of their Year 3/MS1 year. Association of Amercian Medical Colleges (AAMC) Careers in Medicine is a comprehensive site that offers a four-phase process to aid students in selecting a medical specialty. National Resident Matching Program Intro to the Match
Learn about the Match, the process by which medical students obtain a residency training position. Students will apply for residency during their final year of medical school and are guided in this process by our office.
