Liaison Committee on Medical Education
The Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) is the agency officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit medical schools in the United States and Canada. It ensures that medical schools meet established standards for curriculum, faculty, resources and student outcomes. The UMKC School of Medicine undergoes a rigorous review process every eight years.
