Promoting a Healthy Learning Environment

The School of Medicine works to establish a healthy and inclusive learning environment, which is comprised of students, faculty and staff dispersed throughout a network of affiliate hospitals and clinics across the Kansas City metro area. We also help support UMKC's Employee Assistance Program through Saint Luke's Hospital. Learn more.

Enhancing the learning environment

The Department of Graduate Health Professions in Medicine and Learning Environment staff offer a five-week Learning Environment module focused on strategies for creating, implementing and evaluating a positive learning environment at every level. The module is open to graduate students, residents and other learners and explores theoretical frameworks and evidence-based practices to address issues related to the learning environment. Additionally, our Teacher/Learner Policy aims to promote a respectful, supportive atmosphere that fosters mutual respect and accountability in both educational and clinical settings.
