Our Campuses
Two Amazing Campuses — The Same Quality Education
Students at our Kansas City and Columbia campuses will have access to in-person and virtual faculty, support staff and resources throughout their education. Students in the clinical phase will have monthly on-campus call back days at their home campus. The majority of each student’s clinical rotations will occur within the greater metropolitan area of their campus. All students should expect to have at least four remote rotations that are located more than 60 miles from their campus. All students are required to attend the following in-person events in Kansas City: orientation, White Coat Ceremony, curriculum week and end-of-program activities.
Kansas City
A major metropolitan center with a population of more than two million, Kansas City has world-class arts and entertainment, an enthusiastic professional and collegiate sports scene and, of course, world-famous barbeque. Set in UMKC's Health Sciences district in downtown Kansas City, students at the UMKC School of Medicine learn alongside other students training in health careers such as physicians, anesthesiologist assistants, nurses, dentists and pharmacists. The School of Medicine building houses several lecture halls and classroom spaces, a library, simulation-based learning opportunities, research labs and various administrative staff.
Columbia
Our Columbia campus will matriculate students in January 2026. Located in the heart of Missouri, Columbia is home to about 120,000 residents. Students training at the Columbia campus will have access to a vibrant student life that includes NCAA Division I athletics, great dining and the arts. The Columbia area is home to many outdoor activities with easy access to a large network of hiking and biking trails. Hosted at the MU School of Medicine, students have access to the Shelden Simulation Center and a plethora of resources provided by the MU campus.
Student Resources
Students at both campuses will have access to equivalent resources and services to support their education. In-person campus resources are available at both campuses and are outlined in our Services and Resources document (PDF).
Campus Selection
All applicants to the PA program will have the opportunity to designate their campus preference. Preference can be for one campus only or for both campuses. Applicants will only be considered for the campus(es) where they have designated interest. The Admissions Committee will use an applicant’s preference when placing students at a campus in the final selection process. Offers of admission will only be made for a single campus.
