Proteomics Core Facility

The UMKC Proteomics Core Facility provides Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry services for proteomic analysis studies of UMKC researchers and external users.

Lab Capabilities

The Core Facility is equipped with a Vanquish Neo Nano-UHPLC and an Orbitrap Eclipse Tribrid Mass Spectrometer fitted with a Faims Pro Duo for extended differential ion mobility. This system has extremely high resolution and is capable of isolating, identifying and quantifying proteins from both simple and complex samples.

Analysis of small molecule products for quality control, validation/proof of synthesis or organic synthesis troubleshooting is also available.

The Core Facility houses a full complement of ancillary lab equipment for sample processing, with an approved IBC protocol for BSL2 level work with a certified biosafety cabinet for handling clinical samples safely. Data security is ensured by both on-site and cloud-based data backup systems.
