Mistreatment Reporting Platforms

UMKC and the School of Medicine provide multiple real-time and deferred platforms for reporting mistreatment.

Mistreatment Reporting Form

This form is available for students, staff, faculty, residents and fellows to report any incidents of mistreatment, whether experienced or witnessed. Learn how reports are filed and handled, who is responsible for reporting mistreatment, and if needed, use the link provided on the linked page to file a mistreatment report.

Other Mistreatment Reporting Methods

Course Evaluations

Students’ course, clerkship and elective evaluations include a mistreatment question with a link to the Mistreatment Reporting Portal. If a student reports experiencing mistreatment during the course, a pop-up bot prompts them to provide details. Once submitted, the Assistant Dean for the Office of the Learning Environment  Education and Professionalism is instantly notified and files the report through the portal.

In-Person Reporting

All members of the UMKC School of Medicine community may address mistreatment concerns directly with the Office of the Learning Environment, course or clerkship directors, or other leaders. All individuals in these roles are mandated reporters and are required to file a report on behalf of the reporter through the portal.

AAMC Graduation Questionnaire (GQ)

A series of questions in the GQ asks students about incidents of mistreatment and other relevant details, such as reasons for not reporting. Although these are deferred, we utilize the data to develop data-driven action plans for continuous improvement.
