SAGES FLS Testing
The UMKC School of Medicine Simulation Program is an approved testing site for the SAGES Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) Program. Our center provides secure, standardized administration of the FLS cognitive and skills examinations in accordance with national SAGES guidelines.
Designation as a SAGES FLS Testing Center reflects UMKC’s commitment to nationally benchmarked surgical education, technical skill development and standardized assessment. The addition of FLS testing strengthens our simulation infrastructure and supports surgical trainees across Missouri and the surrounding region.
About the FLS Program
The SAGES Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) Program, developed by the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), is a nationally recognized curriculum and assessment platform designed to teach and evaluate fundamental laparoscopic knowledge and technical skills.
FLS certification is required for American Board of Surgery candidates and is widely utilized across surgical training programs in the United States and internationally.
