Inclusive Excellence Initiatives and Resources
Inclusive Excellence Program
The Inclusive Excellence in Medicine Program provides medical students with in-depth instruction on the social, cultural and historical context for healthcare delivery by physicians. Recognizing the many challenges in providing optimal medical care to all patients, the program’s goal is to equip students with the knowledge and skill set to provide inclusive, respectful, high-quality medical care to patients and the communities served by the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.

Observance Celebrations
We host Observance Celebrations each Fall and Spring Semester to celebrate the various cultural traditions and holidays/observances of our School of Medicine community!
Critical Mass Gathering Event
Inclusive Excellence supports the annual Critical Mass Gathering (CMG) event for medical professionals at all levels in collaboration with Mission Vision Project KC, Kansas City University of Medical and Biosciences, and the University of Kansas School of Medicine to assist students with exploring opportunities for a career in medicine through networking relationships, medical specialty exploration, navigating medical school successfully, and building a sense of community and belonging.
Expect Respect and Mistreatment Reporting
We cultivate and encourage a learning, clinical, research and work environment of respect through Expect Respect education for all graduate and medical students, trainees, staff and faculty in the School of Medicine. If you have experienced, witnessed or overheard any form of mistreatment, no matter how serious the nature, submit a mistreatment report.
