The UMKC Family Medicine Residency is one of the most comprehensive family medicine programs in the country as well as one of the largest (16 residents per class). As of July 2025 our Family Medicine Residency program includes two of those spots in our Rural Training Program (RTP) in partnership with Mosaic Medical Center in Maryville, MO. Two residents per year match into that track, spending year one at UH Lakewood and years two and three in Maryville, MO.

In addition to our residency programs, we offer exceptional fellowships in Sports Medicine and Maternal Care and Surgical Obstetrics. We have graduated over 450 family physicians.
