UMKC Family Medicine Residency is one of the most comprehensive family medicine programs in the country as well as one of the largest. We are now offering the UMKC Maryville Rural Track Program for residents interested in rural practice after their residency.

About Our Program

UMKC Maryville Rural Track Program is administered by the UMKC Family Medicine Program at the University Health Lakewood Medical Center. It is a 1+2 model – the first year is spent at University Health Lakewood Medical Center and other sites in Kansas City. The second and third years are spent at Mosaic Medical Center in Maryville, MO. There are two positions open every year.

This rural hospital is part of the Mosaic Life Care system in St. Joseph, Missouri, which is affiliated with the UMKC School of Medicine and offers medical students and residents the unique experience training in rural primary care.

Mosaic Health Center has deep community roots, spanning back 131 years when five Sisters of St. Francis traveled from St. Louis to start a hospital here in Maryville. It was originally known as St Francis Hospital. Our hospital and foundation continue to carry out their founding mission of compassionate and exceptional care, right here at home. As a life care company, we are focused on those we serve. From those who enter our doors seeking world-class medical care to those who want to improve their health and life. We are invested in the vitality of the communities we serve and the health and quality of life of the individuals in those communities. We have servant’s hearts and put those we serve first. We are here to change healthcare for the better.

Dreams and aspirations live in us all. We all want something better out of life. By changing healthcare to life care, we can all have it. We can take those dreams and aspirations and develop a roadmap, a life plan, that will help you set milestones and goals.
