Application Information
Overview
Completed Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) applications are accepted from Sept. 1 – Oct. 31.
Interviews are held in November, after the selection committee has chosen a list of candidates to invite.
The National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) is strictly adhered to with no pre-MATCH appointments. In the event that we do NOT match, we immediately go into the Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program (SOAP), followed by Find-A-Resident if necessary.
The official policy of the Office of Graduate Medical Education is that all residents will pass United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3 by the end of their PGY-2 residency in order to be promoted to PGY-3. However, the expectation in the Department of Pathology is that all residents will pass USMLE Step 3 by the end of their PGY-1 residency in order to be promoted to PGY-2.
