2021-2024
Medical school: Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine
Residency: University of Kansas
Bio: Originally from Wisconsin, my family and I have called Kansas City our home for both medical school and graduate medical education training. We’ve had the opportunity to live in many parts of the city during our ten plus year tenure and have cherished what each neighborhood has had to offer. Now we get to show our children all of the great things about living in KC!
In between graduating residency in 2016 and entering maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2021, I was practicing as a general obstetrician and gynecologist. I look forward to continuing my academic adventure and being surrounded by the abundance of learners in the UMKC community.

Bio: Hi! My name is Zach and I’m incredibly excited to join the UMKC MFM team. As a native Kansas Citian and graduate of UMKC, I’m absolutely thrilled to be moving back home (though, I think my mom is more excited than I am) and sharing my parent’s Chiefs tickets.
I attended (and played tennis) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and graduated with my degree in Electrical Engineering back in 2011. I had a short stint at a local power engineering firm (Burns and McDonell), but quickly realized that engineering wasn’t for me and pivoted to a career in medicine. I graduated with my M.D. from the University of Kansas in 2019 and then attended the University of Arizona-Phoenix system for my OBGYN residency.
During residency, I found maternal-fetal medicine to be the perfect combination of intellectual curiosity, interesting pathology, and the opportunity to help moms (and their babies) through difficult times. I’m incredibly excited and lucky to be joining such an amazing team at UMKC.
In my free time, I enjoy being active and am terrible at sitting still. I love my family (all in Kansas City) and am very excited to spend more time with all of them.
