Program Overview
The Internal Medicine – Pediatrics Residency at UMKC is a rigorous and dynamic combined residency. Founded in 1983, the residency now boasts well over 300 graduates in a variety of careers including, primary care, pediatric and adult fellowships, and academic medicine. Our program is supported by two outstanding Pediatric and Internal Medicine residencies and three of the finest training institutions in the Midwest.
Abundant Opportunties
Our success is driven by our residents. Our program consists of 24 residents, or six per year. This size of residency has allowed us to match residents with a diversity of training, interests and geographical distribution, while also creating a close-knit group of residents. Our diversity enriches our program and strengthens the education of our residents and faculty. Want to be involved in the community? The residents have started a community service organization in our clinic called Med Peds Cares.
Learn From the Best
The Med-Peds faculty at UMKC can only be described as remarkable. Each of our faculty are dual-trained and actively involved with the residency. Education is a passion for our faculty, which facilitates our philosophy that mentoring and clinic didactic education results in expertly trained residents and students.
The Right Fit for You?
The strength and success of our program are predicated on the support of our core training programs and institutions. As our residents learn and grow, our program becomes even stronger. If you are looking for challenging and rigorous training in a supportive, collaborative environment – UMKC Med-Peds is the residency for you!
